I & C start-up & Commissioning Engineers / Technicians

Reports to: ICS Management or Project Engineer
Area/Territory: Domestic & International
Available: 8/20/08
Office Location: Plano, Texas

Job Description:

  • Must be able to work well with a project team at the customer’s site and accept direction from the lead project manager.
  • Must be knowledgeable in placing process sub-systems & equipment, control system hardware, or instrumentation safely in operation.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in obtaining the required results that the customer expects with the start-up and performance of the ICS supplied control system(s), or services.
  • Must be able to work independently to have ICS supplied control systems ready for start-up and commissioning.
  • Must have a positive attitude, excellent interface skills with the customer and project team members, and a strong work ethic.
  • Must have strong expertise of process controls, PID control, logic, and industrial electric experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial I&C experience associated with start-up, commissioning, and/or operations of Combine Cycle Power Plants, Oil & Gas Facilities, HRSGs, SCR’s, and Reciprocating Gas Compressors.  Application expertise in these industrial areas is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with customers and project team.
  • Experience with PLC hardware and programming that includes the Allen Bradley Logix platform and/or Triconex TMR architecture.  This also includes being able to implement on-line PLC program changes for process modeling, tuning, or modification to plant operations.
  • Experience with Emerson Delta-V, Ovation, Honeywell Experion, and Foxboro IA hardware is a benefit.
  • Experience with HMI software packages that include RSView SE/ME/32 & Studio, Wonderware Archestra, or GE Cimplicity.
  • Experience or familiarization of communication interfaces and protocols is a benefit.
  • Must be willing to travel all over the U.S. and some international locations, work in industrial facilities, 5 to 7 day work weeks on short/medium/long term basis, interface with customers and suppliers personnel, adhere to customers safety programs, and work under pressure when required to meet deadlines.
