Industrial Energy Sr. Controls Engineer

Job Description:
- Provide technical leadership and input to approximately 2 – 5 project team members on various types of projects along with having the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously. This also includes taking ownership of applications, assume a technical lead role within the ICS organization, and be accountable for the success or failure of a project.
- Perform or coordinate the HMI development, PLC programming, CAD design, or other engineering tasks associated with the development of ICS controls systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and interface with customer’s engineering staff or management to present design concepts, solutions, cost justifications, or discuss technical issues.
- Must have a positive attitude, excellent interface skills, and strong work ethic.
- Provide technical assistance and information for proposal estimation and development.
- Generate project bill of materials, assist PM with schedule task development, and track technical progress of activities.
- Must be able to multitask and execute more than one project at a time by having effective organization skills and being able to prioritize tasks.
- Must understand the importance of backing up and maintaining updated project documentation, records, drawings, and configured HMI/PLC programs.
- Must be willing to support projects by performing start-up and commissioning of ICS delivered control systems at the customer’s site.
- Must be willing to mentor and instruct junior or entry level resources along with sharing technical knowledge with other team members.
Job Requirements:
- BS Engineering degree or minimum of 10 years of industrial experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong application expertise associated with HRSG’s, SCR’s, duct burner BMS systems, and related balance of plant process sub-systems associated with industrial energy applications. This primarily includes the required engineering, design, programming, and implementation of control systems associated with these types of applications.
- Experience and familiarization with agency standards and codes that include NEC, UL, ATEX, IEC, CE, and NFPA.
- Good technical understanding of control system power distribution and practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD and design of control system drawings.
- Strong expertise with PLC hardware that includes Allen Bradley Logix platform, GE RXi series hardware, and Triconex TMR architecture.
- Experience with Emerson Delta-V, Ovation, Honeywell Experion, and Foxboro IA hardware is a benefit.
- Strong expertise with one or more HMI software packages that includes RSView SE/ME/32 & Studio, Wonderware Archestra, ICONICS, or GE Cimplicity.
